Adventure #9

The long awaited adventure is now here. You guys have been so patient, and here it is (right now while I'm typing this I have a hole in my pants ;-;). FINALLY got over my writer's block. xD

You lay in your yard (assuming you own at least a small piece of property) looking at the clouds pass by. No interesting shapes. It just feels good to get some peace for a while. Even though the wind passes by you, there is no sound.

After relaxing for a while, you decide to walk to the temple. But as you reach the piece of history, it was all odd from the start. The whole thing looked as if it had been rebuilt. Completely remodeled.

But that was impossible! Or... was it? Ronan was already there, along with Farren. They were both taking notes or something. Neither of the two noticed you at first. But as you greeted them with a loud "Hello," Farren jumped up.
"Greetings." said Ronan. "We found the temple like this at 3:00 this morning."
"3:00?! Don't you think that's a bit much for a 12-year-old fox? At least give him until 5:00 AM if you're planning to wake him up early." You said, looking at the sleepy-eyed apprentice.
"Fine fine. But that's not the point. The temple gathered just enough energy from the crystals to return to its original state. This is what it truly looked like when Mira was here."

You looked at the huge temple. When you went inside, you saw statues of all the alphas made of pure crystals. "Whoa!" you exclaimed as you walked down one of the halls. The whole thing almost seemed like an endless maze with so many rooms and staircases. You felt like you could spend your entire day here!

Then a question popped in your head. "Where is Ronan's mom?" You went to go find that blue monkey, and ended up finding him in an old room.
"Look." he said. "This must be Mira's old library. It has a studying desk and everything. From the age of some of these books I'd guess that she even used it when she was a kid."

He held up a book titled "Alphabet of Jamaa."

The book actually looked kinda cute. When you flipped open a page, it read "A is for Alphas, the defenders of Jamaa." You smiled and turned back to Ronan.
"Where's your mom? Back at home?"
"Actually, she's at the hospital. I get to have a new sibling."

He looked at the floor and shuffled his feet uncomfortably. You figured it must feel awkward getting a new brother or sister. You directed your attention at something else just so Ronan wouldn't feel any more embarrassed than he already was. "Where's the Birthstone Display?" you asked.

Ronan didn't say anything, just willed you to follow him with a finger. As he ran down the many halls and staircases once more, you struggled to match his speed. He led you to a hole in the ground outside the temple which had a ladder in it. "Go on." He prompted. Looking inside the hole.

Climbing down the ladder was hard. It kept creaking, almost as if it would break any moment. You even thought you heard it crack once. When you reached the bottom, there were many huge crystals inside the mini-cavern. On the wall sat the birthstone display, but all the crystals glowed. On the floor to the side of the display was a stone carving of Zios. The orb floated on top of it. It now glowed a bright yellow, and occasionally shot lightning-like strikes into the Zios carving. That must've been how the temple retrieved energy.

"Should we go check on your mother?" You asked. Even if he was embarrassed about the whole thing, he should at least have the heart to check on his mom. He nodded, and you both dashed to the hospital.

On your way, a phantom lay squished on the ground. It's lifeless eye lay in shock and it's tentacles were all sprawled out as if it had been tortured to death. Ronan covered his mouth as if he were about to throw up. "What is this doing here?!" He said. "Phantoms don't even exist on this side of Jamaa!"

But his words proved wrong. A few other phantoms emerged from a bush and latched themselves onto him. He tried to throw them off, but he fell to the ground, unbalanced by a horde of phantoms. Two phantoms flew from a tree onto you.

What do you do?

  1. "This really isn't the day I was expecting," Rainbow growled, thinking of the Crystal Palace Temple. Quickly in fear of any more phantoms would hurt Ronan, Rainbow tried to kick the first phantom towards her onto the others and onto the tree.

    1. The phantom that was kicked into the tree fell limp. Another phantom looked at you, staring daggers into your eyes. It charged, screeching and activating its dreadful shocking powers.

    2. "Oh, shoot," muttered Rainbow. She tried to dodge each attack, but it seemed hopeless. It would eventually tire herself out.

    3. The phantom almost made a sound like it was giggling, and looked at you as if saying "Dance for me fool, dance!"

He shot more lightning bolts at you, but the pattern started getting somewhat predictable.

    4. Realising the pattern, she used the skill against the phantom. Eventually, she managed to kick the phantom away.

(By the way, there are only two phantoms or should we save Ronan against the Phantoms too?)

    5. (Oh trust me, there's more phantoms. But it's your decision to either defend yourself or try your best to help Ronan)

More phantoms leaped out at you, and by now about 20 phantoms were on top of Ronan, crushing him under their weight.

    6. "RONAN!"

Rainbow barely knew Ronan but she always help others. Panicking, Rainbow tried to shake off the Phantoms from her back and galloped towards Ronan, now gone from sight.

    7. The phantoms saw you charging, but then they all flew up in some weird formation together in sync, almost like the weird flocks of small birds that look like they are swaying in the air. They looked at you, and suddenly, with no warning given, they all latched onto YOU.

    8. Gasping for air and trying to shake them off, Rainbow attempted to yell, "Ronan! Run!"

Her heart trembling and racing faster than her gallops, she thought, I saw this coming... I saw this coming... Now, for a hopeless plan...

She racked her brains as she hoped that Ronan at least made it out.

    9. Realising the temple was still in range, Rainbow asked the Sky Mother to guide her in her victories. Then, she shook herself and chomped on phantoms that's in her range.

    10. No answer. What had happened?

Nothing seemed to give you a helping hand, but luckily, you found space to breathe.

    11. Inhaling deep, Rainbow suddenly reined, throwing some Phantoms off her back, who were un-expecting a sudden attack.

  2. Thalia used the move flaming torch and burned the phantoms off. Then she called her Winged-Lupus, Strike, to help attack the phantoms.

    1. (You mean Burning Flesh?)

More phantoms hurled their whole bodies at you, activating their shocking powers. One latched itself onto Strike's face, causing him to be pulled to teh ground.

    2. ( Ya xD )

Thalia quickly dropped and rolled on the ground, squishing the phantoms. Then she used Elemental Flash on them.

    3. They screeched and pulled back, but more piled onto you.

  3. Blossom flew up, striking one of the phantoms. She called her winged lupuses for help.

    1. As they flew into your eyesight, a phantom immediately latched itself onto Sun's wing, crumpling the fragile skin on it. He crashed into the ground, trying to maul the phantom with teeth and claws.

    2. "SUN!" She screeched, and darted to the cruel phantom who crippled Sun's wing, blindly clawing at it.

    3. As the phantom exploded into brown dust, Sun got up and looked into your eyes, almost somewhat spiritually conveying a message into your mind that he was thanking you. He couldn't fly, but he then charged at a phantom who was right behind you. Two more phantoms came and zapped at your throat.

    4. Blossom quickly clawed at them, then used groundbreak.

    5. The ground started to shake harshly, damaging all the phantoms. A few died, but many still had the courage to fight. AT least Ronan was not covered in a mass of phantoms now.

    6. Blossom darted to another phantom, and again clawed blindly at it.

    7. As it lost an arm, it flew backwards at a high speed, but crashed into a tree. Their evasion methods were clearly only based on getting away from an enemy quickly, not intelligently. Another few flew towards you, but there were fewer phantoms now.

    8. She once again used groundbreak, hoping the phantoms would just die.

    9. They all tried retreating that time, but Ronan was badly hurt by a deadly shock.

  4. Whisper quickly used chomp on one of the phantoms
